Show Bertha Angus Violet Gentry Reception Honors Newlyweds Here The wedding recepetion of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Lemon, held Friday Fri-day night in the Ward hall, was enjoyed by many friends and relatives rela-tives of the young couple. The program, with Ralph Shields as master of ceremonies, was very outstanding. Dancing and refreshments refresh-ments were enjoyed by all those present. The newlyweds received many lovely and useful gifts. They will make their home in Roosevelt for the present. Mrs. Enid Nelson was a Salt Lake City and Roy visitor the past week spending several days with her children there. Milton Drollinger of Payson was a visitor Monday with his brother Arden Drollinger. Mrs. Gwen Drollinger and two children of Salt Lake City have been visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Garrett Stone. Her husband, Dee Drollinger, came in Sunday and took them home. The Stones also had as visitors over the weekend Mr. and Mrs. Barth Stone and small son and Charlene Stone, all of Salt Lake City. They exepect to visit several more days with the folks. Barth Stone has just returned from two-years service in the U. S. Army. He has spent fifteen months in Korea. Mr. and Mrs. J. Reed Lemon received a mesage Saturday evening eve-ning stating that a baby girl was born to Mr? and Mrs. Boyd Lemon at Tacoma, Washington. The little Miss weighed 8 lbs. 10 oz., and will be named Edna. Boyd is ser-ing ser-ing in the army and is stationed at Tacoma. He ser,ved for some time at Guam. Mrs. Thelma" Robinson and Jo-lene Jo-lene were Salt Lake City visitors Sunday and Monday. The two small boys of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lemon of Salt Lake City are making an extended visit with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lemon. HOLD MIA CONFERENCE MIA conference was held Tuesday Tues-day night, with Stake Board members, mem-bers, Pres. Paul Howard of Fort Duchesne, Bert Angus, Ben Turner, Turn-er, Mrs. Dora Curry, Mrs. Virginia Roberts, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Gutxman in attendance. Visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Merl Jennings of Roosevelt. Dean Roberts and Keith Morten-sen Morten-sen were here to visit with the Elders Quorum Sunday. CONFERENCES HELD SUNDAY Sunday School conference was held Sunday with all the Stake Presidency attending. The list included in-cluded Stake Supt. Ariel Michie, counselors, Evan Percival and Neill Jensen, Stake President Hollis Hullinger, Hul-linger, counselors, Clifford Drollinger Drollin-ger and Erza J. Nixon; Joseph Ol-pin," Ol-pin," clerk, and Russell Robison of the high council. The speaker was Mr. Jensen. NEW COUNSELOR Ward conference was held Sunday Sun-day evening, with Hollis Hullinger, Clifford Drollinger and Ezra Nixon Nix-on present. Russell Robison was sustained as counselor in the Bishopric to take the place of Reed Lemon who was released after a long period of service. A report of the ward was given by Bishop James Lemon, and talks were given by Reed Lemon, Rus-sel Rus-sel Robison and Pres. Clifford Drollinger. The prgram consisted of a trio by three little girls, Marilyn Drollinger, Drol-linger, Ann Killian and Carolyn Foote from the Primary and a girls' chorus from the MIA, consisting of Evelyn Fausett, Marcia Lemon, Jean Nally, Thelma Lamb, IlaVay Lamb, Cherril Drollinger and Re-gina Re-gina Reay, accompanied by Gertrude Ger-trude Russell. Dr. and Mrs. L. G. Benson and three children of Cedar City were visitors of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Benson over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jones, of Hancock Cove on Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Washburn of American Fork, spent a few days visiting Mrs. Olive Sorenson. Bennie Bird, of Hancock Cove, was an overnight guest Thursday of Pat Sue Gentry. Mrs. Melba Larsen, of Arcadia, spent Friday with her mother, Mrs. Olive Sorenson. Thomas Gentry and Russell Robison Rob-ison attended the cattle meeting in Roosevelt, Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones spent Monday evening visiting Mr. and Mrs. Bud Whitmore of Roosevelt. Roose-velt. Mrs. William Fausett and daughter, daugh-ter, Evelyn, accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Lynn McCarrell to Salt Lake City for the weekend. Word, was also received that their son, John, arrived in San Diego on his way home from Fromosa waters. |
