A reception will honor the newlyweds at the Bridgeland ward chapel on Not. 21st. Impressive Home Rites Unite Couple In Wedlock Impressive home rites on Friday, Nov. 13, united in marriage mar-riage Miss Shirley Letta Meyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Meyer, of Bridgeland, and Senor Sen-or F. Mortensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Mortensen of Myton. Bishop Glen Gilbert, of the Myton My-ton LDS ward performed the ceremony at the home of Mrs. Jane Murphy in Bridgeland, grandmother of the bride, with arrangements of yellow and white chrysanthemums forming the setting for the solemn occasion. oc-casion. The bride's gown was of white brocaded satin designed with a scalloped nylon lace yoke and fitted bodice to which was gathered a full skirt. The long sleeves tapered to points at the wrist and her finger tip veil cascaded from a crown of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet bou-quet of red roses tied with white streamers. Attending the bride as maid of honor was the bride's sister, Miss Wilma Jane Meyer, who wore a ballerina length formal gown In a light blue shade. The bridesmaid, Miss Lillian Jane Liddell, cousin of the bride, chose a red formal. Mother of the bride wore a robin-egg blue afternoon dress while the groom's mother was. attired in navy blue. Best man duties were performed per-formed by Keith Mortensen, brother of' the groom. Musical entertainment was furnished by Misses Mona and Louise Liddell. The four-tiered wedding cake was decorated with pink roses and topped with a miniature bride and groom surrounded by Lillies of the Valley. An aunt, Mrs Vernetta Meyer, was in charge of the serving. For her going away ensemble the bride chose a brown and biege tweed suit with yellow and brown accessories. The voung couple will honeymoon in the Southern Utah parks and will later make their home in Roosevelt. The new Mrs. Mortensen graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1948 and is employed at the local Safeway Store. The groom graduated with the class of '44 from Roosevelt High School and is also a graduate from the USAC at Logan. A reception will honor the newlyweds on Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Bridgeland LDS ward chapel. |
