DEATHS iH ELIZABETH PEARL REDMOND Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:30 p. m. in the Roosevelt ward chapel for Mrs. Elizabeth Pearl Freston Redmond, Red-mond, 65 who died at the Roosevelt Roos-evelt hospital, Oct. 24. after a lingering illness. Bishop R. Vernon Ver-non Larson conducted the services ser-vices and was one of the speakers. speak-ers. The active life of Mrs. Redmond, Red-mond, who had devoted much of her time to the Primary and Relief Society of the L.D.S. church, as well as in various capacities in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and American Legion Auxiliary, was praised by Bishop Larson and Hollis Hullinger, president of the Roosevelt Roos-evelt stake. Following is the program that was presented at the services for Mrs. Redmond: Prayer at the home, Bishop Heber T. Hall; invocation, in-vocation, Rulon Anderton; mixed quartet. Miss Esther Wogec, Mrs. Garth Tietjen, Clyde Johnson John-son and Bennie Schmiett, sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and "God Be With You 'Till We Meet Again;" vocal solo. Grant Peel. The benediction was given by Merlin Sullivan, and the grave was dedicated by Harold Eldredge. Pall bearers were Horace All-red, All-red, Patrick Markey Jack Zimmerman, Zim-merman, Howard Harmston, Homer P. Edwards and Axel Birch. A member of the Roosevelt ward, Mrs. Redmond moved to the Uintah Basin in 1907 from Orangeville with her parents, and since 1925 has resided in Roosevelt. She was a member of the stake Primary board and a work leader and block teacher in the Relief Society. She had also served as president of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and was memorial chairman of the Duchesne county camp. She was also one of a group responsible respon-sible for gathering the material compiled in the book, "Early History of Duchesne County," published by the D.U.P. She had held the office of historian for the American Legion Auxiliary Aux-iliary Basin Unit 64. She married John S. Redmond in Vernal Dec. 8 1910. and in addition to him is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary Burgess; a son, Clarence Redmond; her mother, Mrs. Mary E. Freston; two brothers. Samuel H. and Vernal Freston; two sisters. Mrs. Cecil Mitchell and Mrs. Cliff Angus, all of Roosevelt. Burial was in the Roosevelt cemetery, under the direction of Olpin mortuary. |
