Show A DEATHS It - SARAH V. WINTERTON Funeral services were held in the South Summit stake house in Kamas yesterday at 1 p. m., for Mrs. Sarah Van Wagoner Winterton. 69, wife of Hyrum S. Winterton, of Woodland, and mother of Van D. and Omni O. Winterton, of Roosevelt, prominent prom-inent Hereford cattle breeders. She died at her home in Woodland Wood-land after a lingering illness. Bishop Lamont Walker conducted conduct-ed the services. Eorn June 29, 1882, in Midway, Mid-way, Wasatch county, she was a daughter of John and Margaret Fawcett Van Wagoner. She was married to Mr. Winterton, Sept. 3. 1902, in the Salt Lake temple. Church of Jesus Christ of Lat-ter-Day Saints. I She was an active worker in auxiliary organizations of the L.D.S. Church, having held offices of-fices in the Relief Society, Primary Pri-mary Association, Mutual Improvement Im-provement Association, and Sunday Sun-day School, and filled two six-month six-month missions in the Southern States. She was the mother of nine sons and daughters, eight of whom survive: Van D. and Omni O. Winterton, Roosevelt: Mrs. Grace E. Simmons, Charleston, Wacatch county; Ralph D. and Clair Winterton Woodland; Mrs. Luella Walker, Mrs. Ruth Huff and Mrs. Eva Kohkonen Woodland, Wood-land, and Mrs. Stella Gardner Lewis, Heber; also 30 grandchildren, grandchil-dren, six great-grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: William L. Van Wagoner, Midway; Albert Van Wagoner, Provo; Mrs. Clara Pyper, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Nancy Hautter, Midway, and Mrs. Luella Brein-holt, Brein-holt, Phoenix, Arizona. |
