Show Winn-Foster Marriage: Reception Held An interesting social event of the week was the marriage of Miss Ber-niece Ber-niece Winn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Winn of Bingham Canyon, and Kenneth E. Foster, son of Mrs. Emily Foster of this City, which took place Wednesday, June 19, in the Salt Lake Temple. That evening a reception was given giv-en by the groom's mother in the Alpine Al-pine Stake Tabernacle amusement hall in honor of the young nuptials, for which two hundretl invitations were . issued. A color scheme of pink and green, the motifs used being large baskets of peonies and roses, created a perfect per-fect setting for the bridal party, which' stood to the right of the or-, chestra booth. The young bride was lovely in a clever model of white georgette with a full brMal veil. She carried a shower bouquet of brides' roses. The bridesmaids, Miss Roberts of Lehi and Miss Florence Winn, sister of the bride, were attractive in orchid lace and yellow lace respectively, and carried bouquets of lavender and pink sweet peas. Little Misses Nancy White and Norma Maag, cousins of the groom, were dainty in pale blue and yellow organdie frocks, and carried car-ried pink and lavender sweet peas. Ivan J. Foster acted as best man. A program of unusual entertainment entertain-ment was enjoyed during the evening with Eugene Nicholes acting as Master Of Ceremonies. The numbers given were as follows: Prayer, Patriarch Pat-riarch W. B. Smith; remarks, Bishop J. II. Storrs; vocal solo, Elwin Winn; piano selection, Ray Marsh; vocal solo, Mrs. Mae Halliday; reading, Francis Foster; vocal solo, Elizabeth Done of Salt Lake City, vocal solo, Miss Eva Forbes; vocal trio, Forbes family of Alpine. During the assembling assemb-ling of the guests, Ray Marsh played numerous piano selections. A dainty luncheon carried out in the central color theme, was served following the program, after which dancing concluded the entertainment. The reception committee compris-j crl the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. j Winn, the groom's mother, Mrs. Emi-' ly Foster. Mrs. Yates, grandmother of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Foster Nicholes. Mrs. Clinton Larson and Mrs. I-eon Whipple, sisters of the roorn, were in charge of the gift room. The refreshments were in charge of Mrs. Victor Anderson, who was, assisted in serving by ten Beehive! girls of the Second ward. The young couple will make their home in Bingham Canyon, where Mr. Foster is employed. |
