Show Funeral Held Monday For Carlotta Washburn Impressive funeral services were conducted Monday, June 29, for Carlotta Hebertson Washburn and her infant daughter who died Friday Fri-day morning at the American Fork hospital. The services in the Timpanogos stake tabernacle were under direction direc-tion of the first ward bishopric with lioshop J. A. West in charge. The opening number was a vocal duet by Annie G. Bullock and Thelda G. Harris, accompanied by Carol Smith. Invocation was asked by President Presi-dent Wm. C. Smith; first speaker was S. A. Kirk, a former teacher of Mrs. Washburn, who told of her sunny disposition and willing cooperation in class work, and also expressed sympathy of Dr. and Mrs. Evan Judd of Los Angeles in whose home Mrs. Washburn spent two years prior to her marriage. mar-riage. Bishop Joseph Olpin of Heber talked on the gospel plan and of lifes promises here and hereafter. Closing speaker was Bishop J. A. West who exprcsed sympathy for the family of Mrs. Washburn and appreciation of them as members mem-bers of the ward. Other musical numbers were a vocal duet by Mrs. Ethel W. Carlson and Mrs. Lydia A. Hilton, who sang 'Some Time We'll Understand," Under-stand," accompanied by a string trio: Winona and Ramona Mon-son Mon-son with Carol Clark at the piano. Jeanne West, accompanied by Keva Fugal sang "In the Garden of Tomorrow," and Mrs. Thorit "Hebertson, accompanied by Mrs. Fugal sang "Guide Me to Thee." - The closing number, a vocal duet, "In the Garden," was sung by Mrs. Estella Hardman and "Mrs. Viola Beers. Benediction was pronounced by Clarence J. Hilton. Interment took place, in the Pleasant Grove city cemetery where Louis Olpin dedicated the grave. Pallbearers included Sherwin WTest, Nile Fox, Alma Hanson, Wallace He-bertson, Dean Washburn Wash-burn and S. P. Adams. Carlotta H. Washburn was born a-'. Clover Creek, Utah, February 28. to Leonard and Ellen Jackson Hebertson. When Carlotta was a small child Tier father died and the family moved to Pleasant Grove where they have since resided. On June 28, 1941, she became -the wife of Wesley Washburn. Besides her husband, she is survived sur-vived bv her mother, Mrs. Ellen J. Hebertson and five sisters, Mrs. "Wilma West. Rose, Ellen and Shirley Shir-ley Hebertson of Pleasant Grove and Mrs. Lucile Mecham of American Fork: one grandmother. "Mrs. Eliza Jackson of Delta. |
