Show George A. Conder Jr. Mary T. Watts Susan Thornberry George A. Conder Jr., 86, of American Fork, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 1986 in American Fork. He was born Aug. 19, 1900 in American Fork, the son of George A. Sr. and Elizabeth Cousins Conder. He married Ina Nielson June 27, 1923 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a High Priest, a carpenter with the Union Pacific Railroad for 20 years and retired from U.S. Steel at Geneva. Survivors include his wife of American Fork; four sons, two daughters: Mrs. Walter (Lorna) Alexander, Eagle Creek, British Columbia; Neldon Conder, South Jordan; Eldon Conder, Alpine; Mrs. Frank (Margaret) Grygla, Sandy; Darrell Conder, Midvale; Garth Conder, Taylorsville; 40 grandchildren; 67 great grandchildren, brothers, fjve '.' ' Mary Christiana Thomson Watts, 89, of Highland, died Monday, Oct. 6, 1980 in Provo of a heart attack. She was born Nov. 27, 1896 in Kphraim, lo Andrew and Mary Louise Eyring Thomas Jr. She married John Clayton Watts Sr. May 28, 1919 in the Manli LDS Temple. He died June 15, 1978. She spent many years in service to the church and community. She was a longtime resident of Orem. She sang in Relief Society and ward choirs. She graduated from Snow Academy in Kphraim. She taughl school in Wallsburg and Hinckley. She had served in both the Manli and Sail Lake LDS Temples as a worker. Survivors include five-sons five-sons and three daughters: John C. She was preceded in death by one son and one daughter: Edward Eyring Watts and Alice Louise Walls Mitchell; five brothers and one sister. Cook Susan Konold Thornberry of West Valley City, died Oct. 8, 1986 of cancer. She was born Sept. 23, 1938 to Clyde and Claudia Konold. She married W. Lee Thornberry Oct. 13, 1974. She attended schools in American Fork and graduated from high school in Dangerfield, Texas. She was a member ' of the Navy Wives Club of America in Alameda, Calif.; director of the Miss American Fork Pageant of 1965, secretary of American Fork Jaycettes, Womens Business Association membership member-ship coordinator. She was convention committee com-mittee and activities member of the LDS Church. She is survived by her husband Lee, West Valley, mother, Claudia Konold, American Fork; daughter, Teri Clayton, Salt Lake; son, James (Jeep) Healey, Magna; stepchildren, Leeann, West Valley; Gary Thornberry, Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Sandra Fry, Aurora, Illinois; Michelle Christensen, Norco, Calif.; one brother, Michael Konold, American Fork; six grandchildren. grand-children. Funeral services were held Oct. 11 at the Jordan North 16th Ward. Interment was at the Redwood Memorial Estates. Etta P. Snyder Nora Carter Cook, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went home lo live with Heavenly Father Oct. 12, 1986. She was born Jan. 19, 1920 in Provo, to Kimball A. and Esther Morgan Carter. She married Lavern J. Cook in Latuta, Utah, June 17, 1935. Nora did beautiful crochet and embroidery work. She loved people to the fullest. She was a member of the Provo Eagles Lodge. She was born-again Christian Oct. 11, 1973. She is survived by her husband; daughter, Nora Cianne Cook Stevens; five grandchildren; grand-children; brothers, Richard H. Carter and Lynn K. JoAnn Abel performed per-formed "Whispering Hope". The life sketch was by LaWana Ballantyne. Homer Royle gave the benediction and the grave was dedicated by Emery Patten. Etta Phillips Snyder, 83, was found dead Oct. 10, 1986 in Pleasant Grove. She was born May 4, 1903 in Provo, to Emery James and Minnie Anderson Phillips. She married Claude Faucett Snyder in January of 1925 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Sept. 20, 1975. She was a member of the LDS Church, active in all the auxiliaries. Survivors include one son, one daughter, John Snyder, West Jordan; Mrs. Jean Brown," Pacosa Springs, Colo.; nine grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; one sister, Susan Jameson, Monticello. She was born Oct. 8, 1908, inSafford, Ariz., to Frank Martin and Emma Diana Ellsworth Layton. She married John Dodd Sheley. He died in 1976. She was a member of the Vernal 8th LDS Ward, where she served as Relief Society president, ward organist and ward librarian. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. G. Robert (Randolyn sisters, Grant Layton, Orem; Mrs. Douglas (Emma) Merrill, Mesa, Ariz.; Mrs. Lloyd (Thelma) Hunsaker, Logan; and Mrs. Michael . (Maggie) Barra, Phoenix, Ariz. I Jean Marie Bagley (Jeannie) passed away at approximately 5:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 1986. She was born March 21, 1970 in Boise, Idaho to John Grady and Patricia S. Bagley. She was a student at Orem High School and sang with the Madrigal Choir. Jeannie was born again at the age of four and surrendered her life to the mission field to serve troubled youth when she was 12. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she participated in the choir and youth anyone with a problem. She was a joy as a daughter and sister. Jeannie is survived by her parents; two brothers, Michael Shain and David Wayne; grandparents, Ivah and Clifford Britain, Grady Bagley and Jackie Turritin, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church Saturday, Oct. 11. Evans Agnes Jane Carson Evans, 78, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 1986, at her home in Lehi following a lingering illness. She was born Feb. 26, 1908 in Fairfield, Utah, the daughter of William Harrison and Jannet Findlay Park Carson. She married Abel John Evans June 11, 1929 in Provo, the marriage was later solemnized in' the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died April 12, 1971. She was a housewife, manager of Lehi Liquor Agency, Relief Society coun- Richard G. Evans, American Fork; William H. Evans and Mrs. Nila Hughes, both of Lehi; 10 grandchildren, grand-children, four great grandchidlren, two brothers, Russell Carson of Orem, and Rulon Carson of Fairfield. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1986 at 11 a.m. in the Wing Mortuary Chapel, Lehi where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Slater LaVerne Marrott Slater, 72, of Pleasant Grove, died Oct. 13. 1986 at American Fork Hospital. She was born Nov. 7, 1913 in Pleasant Grove to Albert Lawrence and' Margaret Jane Thorne Marrott. She married John Edward Slater on March 30, 1933 in Provo. The marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. He died July 8, 1972. She received her education in the Pleasant Grove schools. She was an active member of the LDo Church, living in the Pleasant Grove 12th Ward. She had served in the Primary and Relief Society and as a temple worker in the Provo Temple. She is survived by a son and a daughter: Arlene S. Peck, Lehi; J. Marvin Slater, American Fork; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove 12th Ward, 275 E. 500 South. Friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Olpin Family Mortuary, 500 S. 300 East, and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the ward chapel.
