Show Edward R. Tuttle ' 1 : Leaves For Convention Edward R. TutUe. manager of the local J. C. Penney Co. store, leaves tomorrow for Salt Lake City, where he will attend the Fall Convention of the J. C. Penney Co-, to be held at the Hotel Utah, in that city. The convention will open on Monday, October 14th, and continue for the balance of the week. Representatives from the New York Office of the J. C- Penney Co., who will be present at the convention conven-tion and preside ovo- the general session, will include Chairman W. M- Bushncll, personnel department; W, A. Reynolds, sales department; E A. Rosa, real estate department; E. G. Ruffntr. district manager. Seven buyers for important merchandise merch-andise departments will also be present. The Fall Convention at Salt I-ake City, is one of fifteen dlntriet con ven'inn meetings held at central points throughout the country and attended by over 1400 J. C- Tenney Co. store managers. "The Fall Convention this year," said Mr. Turtle, "will be largely devoted de-voted to sales promotion, in line with the Gold Star Kales Contest recently re-cently Inaugurated by 'the Company. This contest is not only to increase sales but to Improve service 1o the public by bringing individual clerks in eloper fon'aet with the entire or. gnnization, thus giving 1bem a better bet-ter understanding of efficient selling methods. "This year has already seen the greatest, growth ever made in the development of the J. C. Penney Co. More stores have been opened than in any previous year, and sales are loncer tlinn ever before" Mr. Tuttle states 1hnt four days of the convention will be given over to conferences with individual members mem-bers of the convention committees and to buying. |
