Show H BANISH LIQUOR. H Regarding tho election of Juno 27th, H when all people living in Utah cities H nnd towns may vote for tho abolish- H pient of the saloon, and for tho pro H jilbition of the sale of liquor, I deslro H to cxprenfi the hope that all Latter-day Saints of voting age, and all other H good citizens, will take advantage of H the opportunity and cast their votes H against liquor. H And let us not only vote on Juno Hj E7th, but from now on until that date, H let us work whole-heartedly for tho H cause of temperance and the abolish- H ment of the saloon. H There is no valid or convincing ar- H siim en t, economic, social, financial, H moral or religious, against wiping out H the liquor traffic. M On the contrary, evory strong point H j favors the use of our franchise for 1 , tho establishment of temperance, the H abolishment of the saloon, and the ab- H soluto prohibition of the sale of liquor. H Thore is now only tho ono issuo bo- Hj fore us, and as Latter-day Saints, H members and authorities, who have H always favored temperance, the day H has now come "when wo can strlko Hl unitedly for a holy cause. Hl Let: us strike in harmony, hard and H true! JOSEPH F. SMITH. H In the Juno Improvement Bra. |
