Show WOMAN ATTEMPTS TO DESTROY SELF SALT LAKE, June 2. Despondent because of domestic troubles and 111 health, Mrs. Annie Hintz, 541 West Fifth South street, attempted to commit com-mit sulcido shortly before S o'clock last evening by drinking carbolic acid, but her life was saved by Dr. William Anderson, who was summoned by the woman's husband, Mrs. Hintz secured a small bottlo of carbolic acid from a drug store and in tho prosencu of her husband drank scmo of the deadly stuff Illntz seized the bottle, but Mrs. Illntz becamo iruntic and it was with difficulty sho was kept In the house until the arrival of Dr. Anderson. The woman said she was determined to die and refused to take an antfdoto until she was led lo believe that tho medicine prescribed prescrib-ed by the physician was poison. Dr. Anderson succeeded In getting hor out of danger and stated this afternoon after-noon that the woman would recover. Mrs. Hlntz was operated upon about a year ago, and sinco that time, according ac-cording to Hintz, hay had spells of despondency. |
