Murphy by Lottie Sorenson in the case againsi Christ Paulas, who was charged with lewd and lascivious conduct. Miss Sorenson stated that she was ninoteen years old and that she first met Paulas on the street about two weeks ago. Paulas had accosted her with tho words, "Hello, kid!" but she did not reply In a -very friendly manner man-ner as his "freshness" made her very indignant. Lator she took more kindly kind-ly to his advances and then Paulas visited her Sho admitted that she was f testifying against him because the police had told her that he had told "things" nbout her. Paulas did not take the stand in his own defense but was def nded by Attorney Haherson. At the conclusion conclus-ion of the testimony against Paulas, tho city attorney, realizing that there was not sufficient evidence to convict con-vict the defendant of tho charge alleged al-leged in the complaint, moved that the case be dismissed. On this motion mo-tion the court dismissed tho case. |
