Show Banker Found Dead In Auto Suddenly Stricken During Drive Through Provo Streets Peter Jacobsen, 60, prominent Utah and Sanpete county wool-grower wool-grower and bank director, was found dead at the wheel of his car Friday at 6:45 a. m. at Ninth South on the state highway leading lead-ing from Piew: to Springville. H; died as the result of a cerebril hemorrhage, according to Dr. C M. Smith, city physician who made an cxumvit'on of the body. No autopsy or further Investigation will be conducted, local officers said. A report that another person was seen In the car with Mr. Jacobsen, Ja-cobsen, made by Melba Peterson, 9, daughter of Mrs. Chris Peterson, Peter-son, In front of whose home the Jacobsen car stopped, was found incorrect when officers later questioned ques-tioned the girl's older brother, Harold, ll, who was with his sister sis-ter at the time. The youth said he noticed the car at 8:30 p. m. Thursday evening parked in from, of their home, but was sure there was but one man in it at that time. The fact that Jacobsens watch and other valuables were not disturbed indicated there had been no foul play, officers state. Girl Discovers Body According to members of the family, Mr. Jacobsen left his home here at 6:45 p. m. Thursday to attend a meeting in the city and county building. It is thought that following the meeting, he took a ride south along the state highway high-way towards Springville before retiring, re-tiring, as had been his custom for years, officers reported. He was not missed by members of the family until Friday at 6 a. m. Police were notified and a search begun. While this search was being be-ing conducted, the body was discovered dis-covered by Miss Myrle Peterson, 18, another daughter of Mrs. Chris Peterson, who called her uncle, Hans Peterson, who in turn notified noti-fied the police. When found, Mr. Jacobsen was slumped over the wheel, with his left foot still on the clutch. The motor was stopped with the gear in high, but both ignition and lights were still on. With the car-parked car-parked off the highway, except the rear left wheel, it is thought that Mr. Jacobsen may have felt the stroke coming on and stopped I the machine. 1 Mr. Jacobsen was born in Four.- : tain Green, January 31, 187:!, , where he lived until 1923, when he , and his family moved to Provo. Served in City Council While a resident of Fountain Green he served as a city councilman council-man several terms. He was one of the organizers of the Bank of Fountain Green and served many years as a director. He also was a director in the Provo Commercial Commer-cial and Savings bank, the Bank of Moroni and the Bank of Ephraim. Eph-raim. At an early age he entered the stock raising business. He was an active worker in the Manti L. D S. temple, besides his other church activities. He married Johanna E. Larson of Moroni in 1897. Besides his widow he is survived by one daughter and two sons: Mrs. Matthias Allred and Virgil Jacobsen, Fountain Green; Ruel Jacobsen, Provo; three brothers and two sisters: James Jacobsen, Shelley, Idaho; Hyrum and Louis Jacobsen and Mrs. Carl Anderson. Fountain Green; Mrs. Oscar Reese of Salt Lake. Funeral services will be conducted conduc-ted Sunday at 1:30 p. m. in the L. D. S. First ward chapel at Provo. Pro-vo. Following these services the body will be taken to Fountain Green for additional services m the Fountain Green L. D.
