Jt is fortunate that this sGeam should be located so nearly in the center of the county and that the water can be run both to the north and the south end of the county. Farmington canyon is hv tar the largest earn on in the county. A very large area of ground is drained into the creek that Hows down this canyon. It is a long canyon with a good deal of fall so that several power sites similar to the one already in use could j be found. There is a little lake on the summit where much water could be stored for power purposes l.i-- l ter in the season when the creek gets low. This stored water could be used at the several power sites in the canyon and finally utilized1 for irrigation purposes. M ith another unit added to the power plant already constructed and with several such power plants up the canyon with their long pipe lines, what an abundance of electrical energy rtouM be generated, and what a lot of water could be saved from seepage and evaporation? V.v-'-ne- ty Light & Power Company s electric power plant in Farming-ton- . Some kind of barrier exiu-eso that that company has not been able to market more than about a quarter of the electricity that is being generated by the company because the electric light company was not prepared to furnish the consumer with ideetricity for want of a dLtub-utinsystem, and it seemed that no satisfactory agreement could be reached between the said company and the telephnoe company ao that the latter could provile the customer with electricity. All but three of the new directors of the power company are also directors in the Davis County Independent Telephone Co., so that from now on everything should work harmoniuosly between the two companies. There is a prospect of new customers who will at once take a ..sufficient quantity of electrical energy to more than pay the operating expenses of the generating plant and ennogh others are in sight to put the plant on a dividend paying basis. The telephone company already conlines its pole has structed to all parts of the county, so it will not require any lime to take it to all parts of the county and not near as much expense as if independent pole lines had to be built. It is proposed to first furnish all of the people in the county who are not already supplied with electricity and it is possible that when the contracts now in force between local electric light companies and outside companies for electricity, have expired that the Farmington plant will supply all the juice used in the whole county. It is very likely that Davis County Light & Power Co.wdl absorb all the smaller electrical concerns in the county and final-- j iy be consolidated with the tele-- J This woul 1 phone company. bring in nearly every family in( the , county as stockholders, makit ing a bona fide county concern.
