Show POLITICAL FORECAST Indulged in by one of the Initiated. Who will and Will Not be Nominated. Logan, Apill 11. Mcmbeis of the Cache county delegation to the State convention havf returned home, and from the fact that tills county was honored with a delegate to the national nation-al contention, all were satlslled with the result. It was thought that after the .convention was over politics would rest for a while, but It Is not so, and It Is surpi islug to contiast the activity now in Republican elides as compared to several vearsauo. This is due to the fact that the backbone of the Demociacy has been bioken and the county Is now in the hands of the Republicans. The Dcmociats aie not dead, nor are they sleeping. They are only waiting to strike, and when the hammer ham-mer falls it will be with all the courage cour-age that can be mustered, as they are cxeeptlonly anxious to regain their lost povvci. The District Judicial and Attorney contest will be a pietty one, with candidates can-didates fiom both Cache and llox Elder El-der counties on the tickets. On the Democratic ticket Judge Hart, it is said, will try his chances for a third term, now that the faithful have decided de-cided to go to the State convention solid for Dlstiict Attorney Nebeker for Altorney-Gcncial. For District Attorney . I. D. Call of Hox Lldor seems to be In the lead; In fact, It appeals to.be the fullilliueut of an agreement ofJ.'oiiL,cars ago, whemliiOCobeJcw. pledged to support Call for the place in 11)01 In ictuin for Call's suppoit at that time. Theie is one dlstuiblng clement In the piogiamme and that Is the genial, though modest llgure of "Qull" Xebeker. Should "Qull" de cide to bag the gubernatorial nomination nomina-tion It would upset the plan, unless the Slate convention could be reconciled recon-ciled to a reign of tho Ncbckers In case of election. Just what the out-coinc'vvlll out-coinc'vvlll be Is a conundrum. "Qull" Is a man of very few woids and so far has given nothing out. W. V. Maughan will lecelve the nomination for Judge on the Republican Repub-lican ticket and should win easily, as the thiee counties In the district are all Republican, and he Is especially qualified for the position. The attorney on this ticket will pei-haps pei-haps go to Hox Klder county, If It Is wanted ovei there, othei wise It will be between J.C. Waltcis and George Q. Rich. The Republican administration of county allahs has been a record-breaker. It has been clean cut and dlgnl-lied, dlgnl-lied, and has given notice that lascal-Itv lascal-Itv will not be tolerated by Republican Republi-can administrations. The Republicans have cleaned up the courthouse building build-ing and grounds, and they have likewise like-wise cleaned up the lecords, and by caicful auditing of Deinociatic HguicS have saved the county $1,171.81, which amount was paid Into the county tieasuiy last week. |
