Show Debra Jean Roothoff and Royden Orton united in Salt Lake Temple ceremony mm P j 1 '.v f,i i - ..-X v r r r n n In marriage rites which were solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on July 9, Miss Debra Jean Roothoff of Granger, Utah, became the bride of Mr. Royden L. Orton, of Parowan. Temple President Bayer officiated in the double ring ceremony, in the presence of immediate members of both families. Mr. and Mrs. Dirk J. Root-' hoff, Granger, are parents of the bride, who is also a granddaughter grand-daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Roothoff of Parowan. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Hills Orton of Parowan. The newly married couple were honored at wedding reception re-ception following their marriage, mar-riage, hested by parents of the bride, and held in the Granger Fourth Ward Chapel. They were also hosted at an open house the following week end, by parents of the bridegroom, in the student commons of Parowan High School. For these events, the bride was attired in a white empire styled, floor length dress of nylon with lace trim, designed design-ed and made by her mother. I It featured long sleeves, a headband of flowers studded with pearls and a veil which fell to the waistline. Her bouquet bou-quet was of pink roses surrounded sur-rounded by white carnations. Serving as matron of honor hon-or for the bride was her sister, Mrs. James A. Maughan, and bridesmaids were Miss Judy-Maugham Judy-Maugham and Ann Johnson, friends; Misses Shauna and ! Jolynn Orton. sisters of the bridcgioom. Vicki and Leil! . Eoutham, Biectj of the bride- -. . - --. ;. t. v . ( r , . . "- . groom, were flower girls. They wore pink dresses with empire waists and puffed sleeves and each carried a single red rose. Standing as best man for his brother, was Almon Orton Or-ton and ushers were Larry Orton, Carlyle Gurr, Brent Ar-nell Ar-nell ((a missionary companion), compan-ion), and Steve Bunting. For the honeymoon trip to Bryce Canyon, the bride selected se-lected a double-knit dress dress with long puffed sleeves. The bride is a graduate of the Granger High School and attended B Y U at Provo. The bridegroom graduated from Parowan High School, attended attend-ed the Salt Lake Trade Tech for one year, and has attended attend-ed two quarters at SUSC. In between he fulfilled a two year mission for the LDS church in the Gulf States. Assisting at the open house were the following: at the gift table: Mrs. Almon D. Orton, Or-ton, Mrs. Kent Pendleton and Mrs Clinton Topham; at the guest book was Mrs. Don (Virginia) Southam; assisting in the kitchen were Mrs. Ileta Taylor, Mrs. Getta Orton, Mrs. Dorrainc Orton and Mrs. Marian Mar-ian Hyatt, and .serving were the Misses Linda and fcomiic Hyatt. Linda Orton and Michelle Mich-elle Holyoak. Prior to her wedding the bride had been honored with showers, one given by her aunts and mother and one by Miss Debbie Bawden and Miss Jolene Miles, her friends.
