Show . CRUISER IS ASHORE, Colonial Vessel Fiona Strikes Rocks Off Newfoundland. St. Johns. N. F., July 11. The colonial colo-nial cruiser Fiona is ashore near Cod-roy, Cod-roy, within a few miles of the scene of the wreck of the British steamer Mareotis, bound from Montreal for Liverpool, which went ashore June 26 at Cape Anguille, on the southwest coast of New Foundland. The Fiona struck during a dense fog. and it is feared she will not get off. The steamer Regulus tried to tow her off. but failed. Wrecking tugs have been ordered to her assistance.- |
