Show WALKERVTLLE. Father Batons is much improved in health and will soon resume his usual labors. Rev. C. M. Aken of Philippsburg spent a few days in Rutte during the week, the guest of Rev. Father ""Batons ""Bat-ons of St. Lawrence. Rev. Father Cassidy officiated at his ft st marriage ceremony on Dec. T!!. The interested parties were Mr. W. P. McCarthy of Butte and Miss Amelia A. Pry or of Waikerville. On Wednesday last at 10 a. m. Mr. J. J. Lynch, assistant foreman at the St. jjauimip mine, anu .miss .ora rnea were united in the holy bonds of matrimony. mat-rimony. On Wednesday evening at 7 p. m., under un-der the sparkling lights and surrounded surround-ed by Xew Year's decorations, Mr. John Collins and Miss Xora McGlynn were married in St. Lawrence's church. Mr. Collins is blacksmith in the Bell mine, and Miss McGlynn, one of St. l a : iek"s last year graduates, is one of the sweetcs-t singers and most popular yousg lady in Waikerville. Xew Year services were much on the Christmas order so far as music and d(Y, orat ions w ere concerned. Both were .. e!!,.nt. Rev. Father Murphy ot"Salt Lak sang" midnight Mass and preached. In the course of the sermon he reviewed the past centuries, showing show-ing what Christianity has done for humanity hu-manity in the past and its promise for ih future. Rev. Father Cassidy celebrated cele-brated Mass at S:30 and 11 a. m. Rev. Father Murphy preached again at th3 latter Mass. |
