Show By Marva Fletcher 679-8561 Sheldon Clark went to Logan to attend funeral services for his brother Merlin Clark. Merlin grew up here in Cannonville and attended school here and in Tropic. We send our condolences to the family. We are all saddened to hear of the death of Jim Smith. He grew up in Henrieville and was one of our "local boys." We extend our heartfelt sympathy to his wife and family in Escalante and to his dear mother Rae Smith in Henrieville and sisters Barbara Paris and Dorothy Do-rothy Burkhardt. Our sympathy is also extend to the family of Kay "Spurs" Griffin who passed away in .Tropic last week. The Scouts are spending this week at their summer camp on Boulder Mountain. I don't know how many adults went from here except for Ben Mathews and Joe Hughes, but someone said that nine Scouts made the trip from Cannonville. Cannon-ville. Bill and Tonya Dutton and daughter Markie and son Ruger of Eager, Ariz, came for a visit with Bill's mother Wilma Dutton. They were joined by Wilma's daughter Helen Sawyer, her husband Duane and daughter Macy of Panguitch and they all had a wonderful visit. On Monday, the two young families went to Ephraim to decorate their father Melvin Dutton's grave. Cliff and Gail Heiner spend the week at their home here in Cannonville. Can-nonville. Members of the Bryce Valley senior class from here who went on the senior trip to Las Vegas, Nev. were Tamra Moss, Rusty Rich and Cole Twitchell. Mel and Phyllis Beard went to Cedar City and brought Aaron Beard home for the weekend. They too him to Camp Kestoplis in Salt Lake City for a week of camping. Anita Fletcher went to St. George on Wednesday to meet her son Michael Fletcher, his wife Rimi and their three children who flew from Japan to Las Vegas, Nev. and were met at the airport by his sister Pauline Hansen. They will spend two rnore weeks here with Michael's parents Alma and Anita and then go to Arizona where he will go for further schooling. He hopes to be working here in the United States in the future. Larry and Glenna Fletcher made a trip to American Fork and picked up their granddaughter Pamela Ga-jordo, Ga-jordo, who will visit them for a few days. On the way home, they spent Saturday night in Spring City with daughter and son-in-law Denise and David Broderick and family so Pamela could get better acquainted with her cousins there. Holly Baugh had surgery in Cedar Ce-dar City and the report is that she is doing well. She went to Salt Lake City for a doctors appointment, also. Rusty Rich did very well at the last rodeo and has qualified for competition for competition in the state finals to be held in Hebcr City next week. We wish you well, Rusty! Cliff and Roanne Reynolds and two children of Payson visited his parents Lark and Bea Reynolds over Memorial Day weekend. Lark's brother Tony Reynolds also came for a visit. Marie Merchant and her son Nelson of Richfield spent the weekend week-end here visiting her parents Bill and Bonnie Nelson. Kay Dunham took her son Mathew to the emergency room on Wednesday night in Panguitch after suffering from a bad ear infection. |
