I Nate Houston and Ashlee Nay, Panguitch High School, received Technology Education scholarships from the Utah State Board of Applied Technology Education and the Utah State Board of Regents. Re-gents. Both have been involved with technology education extensively exten-sively while attending PHS. Ashlee Nay And Nate Houston Capture Technology Awards PANGUITCH Two Panguitch Pan-guitch High seniors, Ashlee Nay and Nate Houston, were among a group of five 1A high school seniors to receive scholarships at a Technology Education Scholarship Awards Program held May 3 at the Prove Marriott. Altogether, 95 students from high schools of all sizes competed for the awards, competing in eight applied technology areas. Utah State Board of Applied Technology Education and Utah State Board of . Regents sponsored the scholarships. Students applying for the scholarships were required to complete com-plete a portfolio-based assessment including: work experience in their identified career field, letters of recommendation, transcripts, goals, awards and achievements related to their career goal, employers recommendations recom-mendations and, step-by-step, ident-fied ident-fied educational plans to reach their career goals. Associate Superintendent for ATE Services, Robert O. Brems welcomed students and made introductions. Guest speaker was Professor of Business Management for Utah Valley State College David O. Litchford. Ashlee Nay, daughter of Martin and Collette Nay. Ashlee received a full tuition scholarship to Weber State University, where she plans to pursue a career in nursing. Nay has already completed her Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate and is currently working at Garfield Memorial Mem-orial Hospital. Nay has completed internships in many other areas of Health Care. Nate Houston, son of John and Diane Houston, also of Panguitch, received a full tuition scholarship to Weber State University in the Information Technology Education Category. He has been very involved in-volved in technology during his high school years. Nate is a member mem-ber of the "Cyber Core Team" a highly trained group of students who help with technology without Garfield County School District. He is currently employed, through Cyber Core, with Garfield County School District. |
