Citizen's Coal and Supply Co. , Phone 39 Bingham, Utah ' Dr. Clark Young Replies to Critic Bingham, Utah, March 26, 1924. To the Editor of the Bingham News: Dear Sir: , V-Will you kindly print the fol-lowing paragraph in answer to an editorial which appeared in a contemporary Bingham news-paper some two issues ago? "My attention was called, a few days ago, to a lengthy edi-torial in the Press Bulletin con-cerning the civic loyalty of a 'certain professional man.' Be-lieving myself to be that profes-sional man, I wish to correct a misrepresentation, the absurdity of which really should not war-rant a reply. "That article would tend to make the innocent reader be-lieve that I had sympathized with the opposing teams of Bingham in the recent State Tournament, It was not Bing-ham I was opposing but several individuals whose kindergarten tactics were aught but repre sentative of Bingham. For ma-ture men to declare that every influence was being used to de-feat one certain team in an am-ateur tournament; City influence State influence, Church influence Referees and Tournament Of-ficials influence places them, in my estimation, not as represen-tatives of a community but as men blinded by influences other than that of true sportsman-ship." (Signed) Clark Young ENRICO PARISSENTI CALLED HENCE Enrico Parissenti, 48 years of age, a native of Frosene, Italy, and a resident of Bingham for the past 17 years, died at the Bingham hospital on Friday last of pneumonia. Deceased was a member of the local order of K. of P. lodge, the Eagles and the Italian Society. He had worked in the diifer-en- t mines of the camp during his residence here and was much beloved, not only by his own countryman but people of differ-ent nationalities. He is survived by one son, Fioretto Parissenti, who is a res-ident of Bingham and two daugh ters in his native land. Funeral services were held in Society Hall on Sunday morning and in spite of a heavy snow-storm, was well attended. Representatives of the differ-ent fraternal organizations of which he was a member officia-ting. ' i Bishop J. Wright, of the L. D. S. also made an address. Mem-bers of the L. D. S. Choir sang appropriate selections which were much appreciated. ' There were a number of beau-tiful floral tributes. The body was later moved to Salt Lake City were services were continued at the O'Donnell Funeral Chapel. Dominic Pezzopane, one of the officers of the Italian Lodge, made a brief speech as did Sen-ator Standish, on behalf of the K. of P. lodge. ; Interment was made in Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the di-rection of the O'Donnell Under-taking Co. A large number of deceased s friends from different parts of the State ap.d Wyoming attend-ed. |
