The board of county commissioners in and for Beaver county. State of Utah, met in regular session in the county" court house in Beaver City, Utah, on this 4th day of September, 1917, and remained in session three days following. Present: J. L. Griffiths, Chairman. J. C. "White. Russell E. Parsons; County Attorney, Attor-ney, James E. Robinson, State road agent. ' Robert B. White; Clerk. The following business was transacted:' trans-acted:' Mrs. William L. Hardy was allowed $8 per month from the -dependent mothers' fund for the partial support of the orphan children of J. W. Hardy. Har-dy. " 'The clerk is instructed to order 2-000 2-000 feet .of 4-inch bridge plank, 14 feet long from each of the local mills. In the matter of the tax sale of the Anvil Mining claim; it appearing that the same" was an erroneous sale, it was brderedstricken off the tax sales records. '- The' matter of the contract of the Agricultural 'College for a county agricultural ag-ricultural agent was passed after some discussion until next meeting. Resolved that Beaver county borrow bor-row $6,000 and send to the state road, commission under chapter 108 laws of Utah 1917, to be arranged as follows: Six notes $1,000 each to be sent, 'signed in blank to the state road commission, com-mission, who are empowered to negotiate nego-tiate said notes with Salt Lake banks , as the money is needed and Beaver county will pledge the payment of the same from the 1917 collection of taxes. Resolved that" Beaver county declare de-clare a- bond election for the purpose of bonding the county in sufficient sum to raise the present indebtedness and provide for the immediate future. The attorney is directed to draw up an ordinance declaring such election in legal form and present to the board for their approval. " Resolved that Beaver county borrow bor-row such money from the local banks as will run the county until the taxes are collected. The loan is to be distributed dis-tributed between the three banks and notes signed by the chairman of the board and clerk are to be given as security. se-curity. Resolved that any county officer or other person incurring any indebted- -ness for the county without first consulting con-sulting a member of the board will be liable for such indebtedness. The clerk was directed to write the state road commission asking them to arrange a meeting with the Beaver county board at the eaiiicst possible time. Mrs. G. W. Gillies was appointed deputy clerk on a salary not to exceed two-thirds that of the clerk. She is to submit a, statement of her work eacn month and the bill will be approved ap-proved by the board. The following bills are approved and ordered paid by the clerk: Salt Lake county hospital, criminal crimin-al costs $70.95. L. B. Bohn, criminal costs .$22.00. ' Moroni Myers, health officer $4.00.
