Show QJOCIETY FOR MISS SCOWCROFT. Mrs. E. G. Fulkerson entertained at tho Virginia yesterday afternoon at a beautifully appointed luncheon in honor of Miss Mary Scowcroft. A large basket of pink roses and sweet peas, tied with pink tulle, graced the center table and place cards with dainty walor color design brides with tulle veils were suggestive sug-gestive of coming marriage of tho honor guest. Covers were laid for the following: Mrs. Jos Scowcroft, Miss Mary Scowcroft. Mrs C C. Richards, Mrs. D H Peery, Mrs. Heber Scowcroft, Mrs. Albert Harris, Mrs. Frank Ellis, Mrs. Robert Burton, Mrs Joseph Mc-Farlanc, Mc-Farlanc, Miss Hendershot, Mrs. John Lynch, Mrs Ralph Bristol, Miss Fitzgerald, Fitz-gerald, Miss Lticilo Wallaco, Mrs. Horaco Pcory, Mrs. Harold Peery, Miss Spargo, Miss Harman, Mrs. Tracy Cannon. PARCEL SHOWER. One of the pleasant social ovents of tho week was the prettily appointed appoint-ed parcel shower given iby Miss Ab-bio Ab-bio Coburn at the home of Mrs. Jed Shaw in honor of Miss Orilla Shaw. The parlors were decorated with snowdrop branches and roses and the dining room was especially attractive attrac-tive in its adornment of snowdrop branches and orango blossoms. Music was furnished throughout tho evening by the blisses Hortense and Susie Slmlstcr and Ruth Bailey and following the serving of a tempting repast in tho dining room, the parcols were opened and the usual forecasts of future years and the merriment caused by opening of the last parcel par-cel and the legend concerning the young lady who opons It were pleas--ant features of the evening. GRAND BALL. Tho ball and social given by the T. L. M. I. of the Tenth ward, at the Third ward Amusement hall Friday evening was a grand success, with dainty refreshments and good music. Muoh credit is given to Mrs. Geo-Barker, Geo-Barker, president of the association and also the girls who assisted In making a good time for all. The I. M. B. C. girls gave a reception recep-tion in honor of tho boys, Saturday evening In the parlors of tho Baptist Bap-tist church. The evening was spent in games and music after which refreshments refresh-ments were served to about seventy-five seventy-five guests.
