Show NICK PAWS PLEADS Ml GUILTY That Nick Palos, a Greek, annoyed girls by his audacious flirtations and attempted o 'bribe the officer to whom the young ladles complained, was the grievous charge against the man In police court this morning. Palos pleaded not guilty to both accusations. accu-sations. Two young ladles appeared In court upon the witness stand swoie that Palos had followed them for two blocks on lower Twenty-fifth street. When he first accosted them he shook a purge of coins In their faces and asked them to go with him. The girls Indignantly brushed post him and continued along tho street. Palos followed Near the depot the young ladles met Officer Richardson and told him of the Greek's action. When Palos came along the officer stopped him and telephoned for the patrol wagon. Then the Greek committed the bold offense of offering the policeman $5 If he would let him go. On tho witness stand Palos stated through an Interpreter that he had said nothing fp the young ladles and that when ho offered the money to the officer he merely intended to deposit It with him as a bond for his appearance In police court. Judge Murphy did not Impose a sentence upon tho offending foreigner but stated that he would take tho case under advisement and decide upon it Monday. |
