More than $38 billion in federal funds are distributed every year to all kinds of programs, money for schools, JXPA, Indian health, child care, social programs, reservations and urban centers. Tribal planners, private businesses busi-nesses and governments at all levels use census information to follow trends, make critical planning choices and detennine where social services are needed.
