Show BAC ANNOUNCES NEW SCHOLARSHIPS It was announced today from the office of Dr. H. Wayne Driggs, director di-rector of the Branch Agricultural College, that beginning next fall the B. A. C. will inaugurate a new system of awards in addition to their present scholarships. The new awards will go to students selected se-lected in high schools of this area of the state. The B. A. C. will continue to grant one scholarship to each high school in Southern Utah selected on the basis of strictly scholarship proficiency. These scholarships will be determined by the high school faculty,, nd approved by the scholarship committee at the college. Additional, and new awards, to be called Activity Awards, will be granted on the basis of outstanding outstand-ing proficiency in extra-curricular activity. Such school services and leadership as may be found in agriculture, ag-riculture, athletics, music, speech, arts, home economics, student government, clubs, special services to the school, etc., or a combination of two or more of these activities, will be the basis for making this award. |
