Show TOWN BOARD FAVORS LEASE OF PARK BORDER LAND FOR LANDSCAPING It was a "quickie" at the Town Board meeting last night, with the session over and the board members mem-bers on their way home by 9:30 for the first time since the present group took office. Very little business was on the roster, aside from approving the usual bills. The old town grader was sold to F. S. Leany, high bidder at $75. Two street lights were ordered installed to serve dark corners of the town. Cleaning up of the town dump will be undertaken, with certain spots to be designated for dumping of trash and garbage in the future, and, according to the board members, mem-bers, "appropriate" penalties will be assessed against persons dumping dump-ing trash or garbage in unauthorized unauthor-ized places. A group of property owners liv- , ing on the hill above the Library Park petitioned the town for deeds to the undeveloped portion of the sand hill between their properties and the park, expressing the de-s;re de-s;re to landscape the unsightly ground. The board took the mat-fer mat-fer under advisement, announcing they would investigate the possi-bilit:es, possi-bilit:es, and probably grant long- , term leases for landscaping purposes pur-poses only. It was the concensus of opinion that such action would be of material benefit to the town, 'mproving the general appearance a great deal. Ren Enston was granted a quitclaim quit-claim for delinquent sidewalk assessment as-sessment to clear title to his prop-. erty in the south end of town. |
