Show ; CLEAN UP GROUP PREPARES FOR ACTIVE CAMPAIGN The Milford Clean-up Committee, Com-mittee, with Rudolph Nielsen as chairman, continues plans and activities in the long-range cleanup clean-up program begun two weeks ago. As yet little actual results of their efforts can be noted, but all committee members are active in the preliminary organizational or-ganizational work necessary to the extensive campaign that lias been mapped out Latest addition to the long list of proposed objectives is acquiring, acquir-ing, through generosities of the owners, use of all the vacant lots in the town, cleaning them off and laying out baseball diamonds for younger children to play on, which, Mr. Nielsen pointed out, would keep the youngsters off the streets and do away with the hazard of injuries by passing automobiles. It was also suggested that the property east of the potato pits be obtained for the summer and road equipment used to level the lot, and either tennis or baseball diamond be laid out there. Another meeting of the general committee will be held soon, Mr. Nielsen said, after which the Milford Mil-ford citizenry may expect to see visual results of the work of the directive group. |
