Show MORE TROUBLE. From our exchanges we learn that about 7:30 o'clock on Saturday morning, Henry P. Williams, who has been admitted to the Salt Lake bar as an attorney, was arrested on a charge of attempted rape. The complaint was made by the wife of Dr. Von Tromlits, who is the alleged victim. She states in the complaint, that on Friday Williams came into her husband's office, while he was at Fort Douglas, and made indecent proposals to her. It appears that Williams had some claim against the husband, and she alleges that he agreed to release her husband from the obligation if she would yield; she again refused and he is charged with attempting to use force. Williams remained in jail until about 3 o'clock, when he was released on $300 bonds, furnished by a couple of leading attorneys, and his examination was set for two o'clock on Monday. This is the same man who - a few months since, in a fit of unrighteous indignation, uttered some blasphemous remarks against the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; and who on the very evening when the profanity was committed, while walking to his home, fell from a foot bridge and broke his leg. Verily, the way of the transgressor is hard. |
