Show AT THE annual dinner of the Golden (?) Club held at Greenwich on Saturday evening last Count Ferdinand De Lesseps made the following statement: "The Panama canal scheme is a perfect success. I have got French capital, and I am happy to say that I have received a letter from New York saying that American capital is coming to my support. I hope, after one year's preparations and six years of work at the same, as in the construction of the Suez canal, that the undertaking will be complete." |
