Show ZION'S BOARD OF TRADE. Cache Valley Stake - never backward in good works, now steps forward with a new organization, "Zion's Board of Trade." At a recent meeting of the prominent brethren, held in this city, the following officers were appointed. William B. Preston, President; Charles O. Card, Vice President; Robert L. Campbell, Secretary; R.S. Watson, O.N. Lillenquist, Wm. [William] H. Maughan, Henry Hughes, G.L. Farrell, Fred Turner and S.R. Parkinson, Directors. President William B. Preston was appointed General Manager, and Fred Turner was chosen to occupy the position of Superintendent of the machine and wagon department. The capital stock amounts to $23,000; and all who choose among the people may invest. Already the business is in operation. Buildings are being erected on the Tithing office corner; and it seems that the parties interested intend to allow nothing to intervene between this project and perfect success. The organization has the agency for the Studebaker Wagon, Buckeye Mower and Reaper, Furst & Bradley Hay Rakes and other machines. As we understand it is not now the intention of the association to engage in any other business than that now conducted by them; but we hope and believe that the time will come when "Zion's Board of Trade" will be able to fill that want so long felt by the people here. |
