Show Confederated Club Is Organized In County The organization of a federation of the commercial clubs of Sanpete county was perfected at an enthusiastic enthusi-astic meeting at Manti last week of representatives from Gunnison, Cen-terfield, Cen-terfield, Manti, Ephraim and Mt. Pleasant. Many of the smaller towns were not represented at the Manti meeting but a movement will be started to enroll every town and hamlet in the county with the prime object of giving the county the greatest publicity possible and to further the ideas that have been advanced ad-vanced for better schools, better roads, and a better Sanpete county. The title of the new organization will be known as the Confederated Clubs of Sanpete county, and every four months there will be a general meeting. It is not intended however, howev-er, that the organization will be idle in the interim. Special meetings may be called, according to the plans adopted at the Manti meeting, and it is expected that meetings of the executive officers will be frequent, that matters pertaining to the welfare wel-fare of the county or any particular community, where the interests of the county are involved, can be cared for. Each active club in the county will be a member of the confederated con-federated organization and will be entitled to have five representatives at the meetings. Towns or cities not having regularly organized clubs will be entitled to three representatives. representa-tives. An executive board of one member from each regular club, was appointed as follows: Manti, A. H. Christense; Mt. Pleasant, S. M. Nielsen; Niel-sen; Ephraim, P. H. Rasmussen; Gunnison, N. L. Hermansen; Cen-terfield, Cen-terfield, C. E. Embley. The president and secretary of the county organization will be chosen cho-sen every four months, or at the regular reg-ular meetings of the Ave members from the several organizations affiliated affil-iated with the county organization. Some of the other provisions adopted adopt-ed by the members at the mass meeting meet-ing were: The president may call the executive board together at any time. The president and three members of the executive committee may call a special meeting at any time. Each regular meeting of the club must name the place and date of each succeeding regular meeting. The executive board for the organization or-ganization was elected with the following fol-lowing and Ephraim was chosen as the next meeting place: President, F. H. Rasmussen; Secretary, J. W. Humphreys; H. P. Peterson. The organization throughout the county will be represented by N. Herman-sen Herman-sen of Gunnison, W. R. Jensen, Cen-terfield;S. Cen-terfield;S. M. Nielsen, Mt. Pleasant. A constitution and by-laws, by which the organization will be gov-I gov-I erned, will be drafted by a committee commit-tee comprising J. W. Jones of Gunnison, Gun-nison, A. H. Christensen of Manti, and S. M. Nielsen of Mt. Pleasant. Every representative at the Manti meeting proved a "booster" for the voting of the road bonds and it will be the intention of every one of the members to put forth every effort to assist in putting the bonds across. The slogan adopted by the Confederated Confed-erated Clubs was "Bury the hammer and buy a horn." The next regular meeting of the club will be held at Ephraim July9. |
