Show "Fly" Campaign To Be Waged "Clean up and swat the fly" is the slogan to be adopted by all of Gunnison. Gun-nison. The disease spreader is going go-ing to have a hard battle in Gunnison Gunni-son this year to sustain life if all the disease breeding places and filth are cleaned up about the business and residential portion of the town. Forces are being formed and backed by the city council in the move, together to-gether with the faculty and the pupils pu-pils of both the High school and the public schools, old men fly and his many wives will be put on "the run". At the regular meeting of the council last Saturday evening, and at the invitation of Roy Madsen of the High school, the city will join in eradicating the fly. The city will do its part in offering prizes for the pests as they are brought in. For the first two weeks beginning April 16th, a bounty of ten cents a hundred hun-dred will be paid by the city. For the following two weeks the bounty will bo placed at five cents a hundred Here is a chance for all to get in on the money. Not alone will swatters and fly traps be used in large proportions in the campaign, but plans are on foot to have a genuine and thorough clean-up of the city. As soon as arrangements ar-rangements can be made and when the elements will permit teams will be organized in different parts of the town and each will strive to outdo " the opposition in making their re- spective parts of the town the most clean and attractive. The fly campaign is to start on the fifteenth of this month and those not having fly traps and swatters are asked to get a supply and cooperate in the movement. Let every man, woman and child join in the movement and let it go out that Gunnison is the cleanest little lit-tle burg with fewer flies than any town in the state. |
