Show Funeral services honor Cleo T. Applegate Cleo Tullis Applegate of Blanding, 31, died March 7 in a Salt Lake City hospital of cancer. She was born January 15, 193S, in Pioche, New, a daughter of Elvon Sterling and Mildred Farnsworth Tullis, Tul-lis, She was married to George Blaine Applegate, February 19, 11, in Pioche, Nev. The marriage was solemnized in the St. George L.D.S. Temple Feb. 6, 1962. She graduated from the Cedar Ce-dar City High School, and also al-so the College of Southern Utah in Cedar City. While attending at-tending CSU, she was President Presi-dent of the Associated Women Wo-men Students, and also received re-ceived the David L. Sargent Womanhood Award. She was active in the LDS Church and had been a teacher in the Logan, Lo-gan, Cedar City, and Blanding schools. She grew up in New Castle where her parents still reside. Survivors include her husband, hus-band, and the following sons and daughters, George Brett, Laird S., Jennifer, Trecia, all of Blanding; her parents in New Castle; and the following brothers and sisters, John P. Tullis, Sunnyvale, Calif.: James S. Tullis, Cedar City; Daniel E. Tullis, Kirk W. Tullis, Tul-lis, both New Castle; Mrs. Veron (Colleen) Gilbert, Brig-ham Brig-ham City. Funeral services were held Monday, March 10, in Blanding. Bland-ing. Additional funeral services ser-vices were held March 11, in New Castle. The prayer in the home was offered by Carroll Tullis. The New Castle services were conducted con-ducted by Lister Woods. The prelude and postlude music was played by Mrs. Vivian Knell. The invocation was offered of-fered by Cleon Fox. A vocal solo, "The Prayer Perfect", was sung by Mrs. Carma Eeacham. A life history of Cleo was given giv-en by her brother, Jack Tullis and this was followed by a talk by Otto Fife. A quartet, "I Need Thee Every Hour" was sung by Georgia Harrison, Luzon Lu-zon Forsyth, George Beaeham and Charles Hart. Bishop Charles Hart was the next speaker and was followed follow-ed by a piano duet, "Oh My rainer piayea Dy iviiCKie Applegate Ap-plegate Evans and Evalee Applegate Ap-plegate Matheson. The benediction bene-diction was given by Dennis Farnsworth, and the grave was dedicated by Veron Gilbert. Gil-bert. Burial was in the New Castle cemetery. Some of the out of town relatives rel-atives attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Veron Gilbert Gil-bert and family of Brigham City; Jack Tullis of Sunnyvale, Sunny-vale, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. James Tullis and Glen Tullis of Cedar City; Mrs. Verda Ap-plegat Ap-plegat and Mrs. Edith Dalton of Ogden; Mr. Cleon Fox and Mr. and Mrs. Kent Whittaker of Circleville; Mr. and Mrs. Don Applegate of Idaho Falls; Mrs. Venola Farnsworth, and Mrs. Venice Griggs, Mrs. No-leen No-leen Jessup, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Farnsworth, and Mrs. Ja-neene Ja-neene Allen, all of Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Farnsworth, Farns-worth, Beaver; Mrs. Verue Sandstrom and daughter Charlene, and Mr. and Mrs. John Sandstrom of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Terry of Enterprise; En-terprise; Mr. and Mrs. Don Bishop of Delta; Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Tullis, Mrs. Beverly Evans, Mrs. Carolyn Knell Johnson, all of Las Vegas; Mr. and Mrs. Vee Adams of Hurricane. |
