Show Parowan FFA boys, Sweetheart, attend convention Today, Thursday, eight boys from the Parowan Chapter of Future Farmers of America will travel to Salt Lake City to attend the annual state convention of the organization, organiza-tion, says Alma Adams, chapter chap-ter reporter. The delegation will include a . parliamentary procedure team consisting of Keith Adams, Alan Adams, Jimmie Brown, Kevin Robinson and Scott Guffey, which will put on its demonstration Thursday Thurs-day night. Others making the trip will be members Mark Evans, Kim Evans and Doug 'Robinson; Miss Kathy Sturde-vant, Sturde-vant, chapter sweetheart who will compete in the state Sweetheart contest on Saturday, Satur-day, and she will be accompanied accom-panied by her mother, Mrs. Kay Sturdevant. Keith Adams will receive, a State Farmer award while at the convention. The convention opens today to-day at 5:30 with the speech and parliamentary procedure contests to be held in the auditorium au-ditorium of the State Office , Building. j Governor Calvin Rampton will greet the students at the first general session Friday at 2 p. m. in the Terrace and Robert L. Simpson, presiding bishop of the LDS Church will bo the principal speaker. speak-er. Friday at 7 p. m. the second general session will be held at which time Standard Oil of California and the U. P. Railroad Rail-road scholarships will be presented pre-sented and the annual FFA Foundation Award will be presented. The group will elect new state officers at the Saturday afternoon session and the Sweetheart banquet will climax cli-max the convention activities Saturday at 6 n. m. I |
