Show SOCIETY I . The members of the Ladies Literary Lit-erary club of Springville were delightfully de-lightfully entertained Saturday afternoon at the home of Mrs. George Straw. A delicious two-course two-course luncheon was served at one long table at 3:00 o'clock. Covers I were laid for the following mem- bers: Mrs. Glenn Sumsion, Mrs. Cornell Mendenhall, Mrs. E. L. Faux, Mrs. William H. Brown. Mrs. La Celle Sumsion, Mrs. Frank Salisbury, Sal-isbury, Mrs. ' Ford Crandall, Mrs. Oliver Dalton, Mrs. Burton Groes-beck, Groes-beck, Mrs. Claude Salisbury, Mrs. Will Grooms, Mrs. Evan Jacobsen, and guests, Miss Sophia Packard, and Miss Fern Sumsion. During the afternoon Mrs. Frank Salisbury Salis-bury entertained with a splendid review of the book, "In a Shuntung Garden." The next club meeting will be held December 1 at the home of Mrs. V. C. Mendenhall. An enjoyable evening was spent Thursday when a number of friends assembled at the John S. Boyer home to bid farewell to Edward Ed-ward Boyer before his leaving for the mission field in the Netherlands. Nether-lands. A program of music, games readings, and social chat was enjoyed; en-joyed; also a delicious luncheon which was served to the following friends present: Janet and Helen Webster, Louise and Margaret Boyer Boy-er of Provo; Helen Fox, Esther Maycock, Helen Boyer, Rowena Hutchings, Mary Strong, Mary Simmons of Spanish Fork, Carlyle Crandall, Ferrel Gudmundsen, Roy Alleman, Reed Rigtrup, Lee Miner, Dix Jones, Howard Bird, Arthur Boyer and the gliest of honor. ; In compliment, to Frank Brown, the "M" men of the Fourth ward 'entertained at a party Saturday evening at the home of Harold Whiting. Games, music and social chat were features of entertainment. entertain-ment. A delicious lunch was served serv-ed in the late evening to a large crowd of class members and friends. Mrs. Eliza Thorn entertained at a dinner and quilting at her home Monday. Those present were, her two sisters, Mrs. Nora Clyde, Mrs. Rhena Weight; also Mrs. Lettie Beardall, Mrs. A. W. Finley and Mrs. Amelia Johnson. Honoring their brother, Edward Boyer, Mrs. Selvoy Boyer and Mrs. Joseph Jarvis entertained at a successful suc-cessful and enjoyable party for members of the Boyer family and a few friends at the home of the latter Saturday evening. A delightful de-lightful program of games and music furnished pleasant entertainment. entertain-ment. In conclusion a delicious lunch was served to about twenty-four twenty-four guests present. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. John S. Boyer gave a family dinner in compliment com-pliment to their son. The dining table held a pretty basket of late autumn flowers as a centerpiece. Covers were laid for thirty guests. Mr. and Mrs. William H. Brown entertained at dinner Friday evening eve-ning in compliment to Frank Brown. Covers were laid for ten guests. A delicious luncheon was served in the early evening at one long table, which was centered with a beautiful beauti-ful silver basket of pink sweet peas, Princess tapers corresponding correspond-ing in color held in silver candle holders were placed at either end and on the sides of the table. Adding Add-ing to the attractiveness of the j decorative scheme individual baskets bas-kets of sweet peas were used to Ray Hansen of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Oakes. After lunch progressive pro-gressive bridge was played at four small tables. Prizes for the game were awarded to Mrs. H. T- Reynolds, Rey-nolds, Jr., A. G. Johnson and Mrs. A. G. Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. William Donaldson announce the marriage of their niece, Miss Caroline Aston of this city, to Mark Hanson of Palmyra. The marriage took place at Ncphi parties of the week was given Tuesday Tues-day evening when a number of young folks surprised Miss Merrel Oakley at her home. Games, music mu-sic and dancing were features of entertainment.
