SPANISH FORK HAS FINE CROP Beet Harvest Likely to Be Phenomenal, Declares Sugar Official. With 65 per cent of the bect crap in the Spanish Fork area harvested, indications point to a phenomenal yield on a large percentage of the acreage of the Spanish Fork factory fac-tory territory, according to J. H. Snell, district agricultural superintendent, superin-tendent, of the Utah-Idaho Sugar company. 22 Tons For Acre Eighty-six acres in the district on which records were kept produced an average of 22 tons per acre, according ac-cording to Mr. Sncll. "It is v.ery gratifying to know that there has been several phenomena phenom-ena yields ranging from 15 tons per acre to as high as 27 tons," Mr. Sncll explains. "These yields are accounted for generally because of rotation of cultivated cul-tivated and other crops, and also because the growers continued to irrigate until harvest time. It has been thoroughly demonstrated in the past few years that beets produce pro-duce a much better yield and sugar content when properly irrigated throughout the growing season. Beets should never be harvested in , dry soil," Mr. Snell explains. I Some Fino IJccords I Among some of the farmers that have grown 20 tons per acre and upwards are: S. D.
