Show SPRINGVILLE GRID ELEVEN . SUCCESSFUL Springvilie high school did not win the championship of Region Three this season, but their record was decidedly impressive, and Coach C. B. Ledingham is well satisfied with the performance of the 1928 Red Devils. 199 Points To 6 In five league games, Springvilie chalked up 199 points against 6 for I their opponents. The two non- i league! tussles found a total of 51 points against six, making ' the grand total 250 to 12. Springville's gridders showed tremendous tre-mendous improvement in every game, winding up on Armistice day with an overwhelming victory over Carbon county high school, a team which gave Moab a terrific battle. Moab trounced Pay son in lass B semifinal last week. The six points in league competition competi-tion were just six too many for title laurels. Payson snared the opener of the season from Springvilie Spring-vilie by a 6-0 score. Unfortunate Schedule In view of the fact that Payson and Springvilie were outstanding from the start, and the issue of the season was determined in the opening open-ing game, many observers believe that the stronger teams meet near the close of the season, instead of at the opening of competition, when neither team has reached its real form. Springvilie is well satisfied with the performance of its team, and 1 most of the Red Devil rooters be- lieve that a game with Payson late in the season would have shown a far different result. |
