Meet Joleen Dunyon, an Olympus High School delegates to the Uni-ted Nations model assembly on the University of Utah campus, came home from the assembly with a prize trophy. Joleen, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Dunyon, 3400-27t- h East, received one of four loving cups given as honorable mention awards in the annual United Na-tions examination. The examination was given high school students throughout th2 state, and six winners were an-nounced during the model U.N. A senior at East High School, Cleve B. Moler, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Murray M. Moler, won first place. The six winners' examination papers will be forwarded this week to the New York head-quarters of the American Assn. for United Nations for consid-eration in the national contest, in which winners will be decided May 21. Schools In Granite Hold Gourley Day Yesterday was "David Gour-ley Day" in schools of the Gran-ite School District. School programs were held in honor pf the retiring superinten-dent. Mr. Gourley will end more than 47 years in the Utah edu-cation field when he leaves the helm of Granite district July 1. Also as a tribute to Mr. Gour-ley, the school board set up a special scholarship fund in his name. The board proclaimed "David Gourley Day" last week. Mass Meeting Set For Cottonwood Heights The Cottonwood Community Council has called a mass meeting for Tuesday, May 21 at 8 p.m. at the Butler School, 7000 South, 27th East. Purpose of he meeting will be to discuss the proposed new sewer project and all residents of the Sanitary District No. 3 are asked to attend. County Commissioner Lamont P. Gundersen and Horace P. God-frey and his citizens committee will be present to answer ques-tions. Earl Cox, chairman of the council, will conduct. Student Awarded $100 Scholarship William E. Link, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl E. Link, 1415 Downington Ave., was awarded the Horace A. Moses Foundation sch-olarship of $100. Carl is a stu-dent at East High School. Ann Turpin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Turpin, 57-1- 2 13th East St., and Lois Malin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Malin, were named as alternate delegates for the national conven-tion.
