The intersection has caused a flurry of protests from motorists. State and county officials, who are cooperating on the project, expect the light to be a temporary solu-tion until a major interchange is constructed in connection with the proposed east-we- st freeway. According to V. R. Carlquist, foremen in the County Street Light and Traffic Department, the actu-ated signal will show green on the Parleys road until a magnetic switch buried in conduit is tripped by a Wasatch Blvd. car. Mr. Carlquist's department will handle the installation. Power company officials have indicated that the power will be available in 10 days to two weeks.
