Show Pago e SOUTH EAST INDEPENDENT Sugar House. Utah Thursday, May 16, 1957 'Twixt Us Teens by Tibby Tucker BEAUTY BRIEFS., why look like a parched pigeon when you look like a brown berry? Why not bernellowandTuntanned"in-stea- d ""of "appearin-g- before the throngs suffering and scorched. Sunbund, not suntanned that is. I, Tibby, surely hope that YOU'LL be smart enough to take a sug-gestion from successful sun-tanne- rs .. use a sun-ta- n lotion! For sure! Frequent applications, especially on the first days of exposure are a must! FASHION'S FANCY . . runs to cumberbunds nipping in the waist lines of floating chiffons. There is nylon chiffon, and cotton chif-fon and rayon chiffon and pure silk chiffon. But whatever the version of this filmy, feminine fabric, that appeals to you, you'll never look so lovely as in one of these flattering, full-skirte- d, shirtwaist frocks. Some are polka-dot- s, others floral prints, some shadow window - pane checks. Watch the graduation frocks and see how many are sty"-le-d just as described above ..for proff of this pudding. MEMO ON MANNERS ..from regarding appreciation. Maybe me, Tibby, to you, teen readers, you'll be graduating from some-thing or other in a day or two or three (Seminary, junior high, high?) . .maybe you'll be remem-bered with cards or gifts. Quick, sincere notes of thanks are a considerate gesture. If you bor-row something, it's a thoughtful thing to return the item with a wee surprise . . a candy bar, a new comb, a pocket whick, or a batch of home-mad- e candy! Be an enthusiastic gift-gette- r, too. Let the giver know how much you like the present You know. . . smile, and exclaim and com-ment and thank! 5jP "Teen-Talkers- " OLYMPUS HIGH By Kathleen Hinckley In commemoration of Mothers Day, the Laurel Club is sponsered an afternoon tea for all Olym-pus High girls and their mothers. The tea was held last Sunday at Olympus. A program lended entertain-ment and refreshments were ser-ved. The Laurel Club is a club made up of senior girls. Vesper Services for the gradu-ating students of Olympus High will be held this Sunday, May 19, in the school auditorium. The guest speaker this year will be T. Edgar Lyon. These services are held an-nually for all graduating stu-dents the Sunday before com-mencement exercises. Each year the group is favored with a dif-ferent guest speaker. Four girls were recently chosen as pom pom girls for next year's Pep Club Special tryouts were held for these girls at which time they were selected on the basis of poise, rythm, appearance, and marching ability. The selected girls are Mary Ann Stillman, Sherry Hendersen, Roseane Openshaw and Pat Da-vie- s. Next year these girls will perf-orm with the pep club but will be dressed in an alternate color scheme.
