Show MILITARY TRAINING FAVORED BY SCHOOL A resolution favoring universal military mili-tary training of the young men of tho country between the ages of 19 and "1 , . r- adopted bj the city ?chooi board of education at its regular meeting last night and instructions given the clerk T to forward a copy of the resolutions to 1 President Woodrow Wilson. '111.- resolutions adopted follow: "Whereas, there is a bill now pending pend-ing before the congress of the United States, providing for universal military mili-tary training and education for men between the ages of 19 and 21, and "Whereas, one of the purposes of Bald bill is to Improve the character hi the young men of our nation mentally, men-tally, morally and physically, and Whereas, the passage of the said bill, in our opinion, will materially aid and strengthen the resources o our national defense, "Now, therefore bo it resolved by the board of education of gden city that it Is the Judgment of said board that the said Mil now pending in con gress deserves the active support of 'he citizens of the United Stales and that we favor Its general purpose. "Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded b the Clerk ol this board to the president of the United States, the secretary of war. to the senators of the state of Utah and our representatives in congress." con-gress." Among other matters considered by the board was whether a resident living liv-ing outside of the city limits, but paying pay-ing taxes on city property, had the tight to sond his children to the city schools without paying further cost. Attorney Wade M. Johnson, a member of the board, was asked to give a legal opinion on the question at the next meeting Bids were received for the sale and removal hi a small building at the rear of the Madison school and another .1 the rear of the Washington school.
