Show NAVAL RESERVE FORCE. At 2S24 Washington avenue is a nav-IsJ nav-IsJ reserve enrolling office, where young men are being accepted. The Standard has been invited to call atten tion to this local station, and in com-plying, com-plying, reproduces a letter which has been received from the headquarters of the twelfth naval district at San Francisco : "Editor Standard: The United States naval reserve force is making a drive for men for service In all parts of the world. As everyone knows, the United States navy Is the best fed. best clothed, best treated and most democratic navy in the world The naval reserve force is an actual part of the United States navy, created for service In time of war. Men are given every possible opportunity for ad- ' vancement. those who show good promise are sent to the officers" training train-ing schools in different parts of the United States for instruction and training. Men to be eligible must be I between the ages of 18 and 35; must I be native-born citizens of the United States or have their final naturaliza-' naturaliza-' lion papers; must show a clean bill of health; and. if within the draft ages, must have a statement from their local boards showing they are not in the current quota. "You are urged to give as much publicity as you can to this letter." No branch of the war service offers more inducements to the young man 1 than the naval reserve force. Liberal allotments are made married men for ! their wives and children; men who are I not married but have dependents are 1 also liberally provided for.
