Dickerson anc daughter of Los Angeles, visited ir American Fork last week-end, call ing at the home of Mrs. Mary J Foster Merrill of San Fran Cisco, is visiting indefinitely at th home of her mother, Mrs. Grac Coates. Mr. and Mrs- A- B. Allen and f am ily left Tuesday for a vacation trif to California. They plan to visi the fair at San Diego, and othe: points of interest. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Taylor anc daughter, Maxine, attended the wed ding reception of Mr. and Mrs. Bus sell Immish, held Monday night ir Provo. The Busy 7, 4-H club enjoyed ar outing at Saratoga Monday. Then were ten members and as special guests Mrs- Leila Able and daugh ter, Gayle. After an invigorating swim a delicious lunch was served. 1 Mrs- H. H. Mrs. Wclburn Hufrsard and children chil-dren left Saturday for an indefinite visit with relatives in Idaho. Mrs. Alice Thacker of Charleston, visited here Sunday with her mother, Mrs. James Barratt. Miss Nelda Davis, Lehl, and Miss Selma Seastrand, American Fork, are now attending the L. D. S. Business Busi-ness College In Salt Lake City. Saturday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Stlce were Mr. and Mrs. Owen West, and family, of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Stice's mother and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Holmes of Lehl. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. I. L. Pratt during the past week were Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Angel and Mr. and Mrs. Helga Sam-uelson, Sam-uelson, members of the Veteran Piremens association of the state. Howard Bush, Elliott Lee and Vern Humphries left Monday for a trip to the California Pacific International Exposition at San Diego. They will visit Boulder City on their return trip. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Ashby spent Friday in Logan and vicinity in the interest of fox farms. Dr. and Mrs. V. F. Houston and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Sykes, motored to Nephi Monday night. Dr. Houston was called there to examine the boys of the 145th Battalian before they leave for a trip to the coast. Sunday callers at the home of Mrs. Mary J. Cunningham were Mrs. Ray Swenhardt and two daughters of Los Angeles, a niece of Mrs. Cunningham, Cun-ningham, and Mrs. Fred Young and three daughters of Salt Lake City. Chief I. L. Pratt was one of the speakers at the funeral services of Captain Wm. T. Ayland held Wednesday Wed-nesday in Salt Lake City. Mr. Ay-land, Ay-land, was head of the Burns Detective Detec-tive agency and a member of the State Veteran Firemen's association. Mr. Pratt is chaplain of the association. associa-tion. Visitors last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lot Robinson were his cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Leige Robinson Robin-son and daughter, Phoebe, of Logan, and Mr. and Mrs. Brigham Robinson of Los Angeles. These men have not visited in American Fork for about fifty years. Mrs. Rhoda Hansen of Canada, also visited at the Robinson Robin-son home in the interest of genealogical genea-logical work. Mrs. William Householder left Tuesday for Ogden, where she will visit with her son. Mr. Lawrence Wimmer of Joseph City, Arizona, visited during the past week at the home of Mr. and Mrs-George Mrs-George F. Shelley. James Bodell has returned to his home in Salt Lake City after a three weeks' visit with his grandmother, Mrs. Martha H. Chipman. W. A. Dennis returned to American Ameri-can Fork Tuesday after spending the past week inspecting the New Deal Mining property. He reports the work as progressing fine. is the regular monthly meeting and all members are urged to be in at tendance. Mrs. Charles R Miller and son, Bert, of Provo, formerly of American Amer-ican Fork, left the first of the week with her son, Melvin and his wife, for New York City, where they will stay for the summer months. Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Noyes are receiving congratulations on the safe arrival of a baby girl, born Sunday in the Lehi hospital. Mother and baby are doing nicely. This is the first girl in the Noyes family and tooth Daddy and Grandfather Noyes are having trouble to make their hats fit- Mrs. Thorns fYHdincrt.mi o-aw n. quilting and luncheon at her home last Friday evening for Mrs- P. A. Lions, of Bisbane, California, who with her daughter, Grace, are visiting visit-ing at the Coddington home. Lunch was served to Mr. and Mrs. H- C. Jensen of Salt Lake City, and to Mr- and Mrs. Hans Larsen, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Chadwick, Mr. and Mrs-Vern Mrs-Vern Larsen, Mrs. Valeridy, Mrs. Myrtle Houston and the honor guest. John Evans and family of Rolapp, are visiting in American Fork- Mr. Evans is just recovering from an operation- His eye was injured while at work, which later developed into an aboess. It was taken care of in a Salt Lake hospital. Howard Thrasher of Hynes, California, Cali-fornia, formerly of this city, is visiting vis-iting friends and relatives here. After Af-ter leaving California he went to Flint, Michigan, and purchased a new car, and on his way west visited at Davenport, Iowa. He will be here until the end of this week. Mrs. Harvey Fletcher and family of New York, arrived in American Fork Monday for a visit with her parents, President and Mrs. S- L. Chipman. Mr- Fletcher will join his family about the first of August and they will then leave for California to attend the fair at San Diego and other places of interest on the coast and visit in Yellowstone Park on their return to their home in New York. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Pack and sons, LaVon and Phillip, and Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Pack, were Friday guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Burke on the Bar K Ranch, in East canyon. can-yon. Mrs. Burke, assisted by her daughters, Geneva and Margie, served serv-ed a trout dinner to the group. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Steele of Holliday, were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Chadwick and Son and Mr. and Mrs. Leo T. Shelley of this city. Mr. and Mrs. John Matthews and daughter of Guadalupe, California, are visiting here at the home of Mrs. Matthews' parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Devey. Mr. and Mrs W. T. Wilson of San Bernardino, California, are visiting relatives in American Fork and are guests at the homes of Mrs. Wilson's nieces, Mrs. James Tattersall and Mrs. Luther Giddings. The basement of the new home of Dr. James Chadwick on South Center Cen-ter street is nearing completion and the brick work will start about Monday. Mon-day. Chipman Mercantile company is doing the building and' expect to have it ready in a very short time. The Bee Orchis club and their partners enjoyed a hot supper served serv-ed at the Cave Camp Monday night. The hostesses were Mesdames Frank Humphries, Vern Walker, Stephen Shelley and Bert Timpson. There were 28 present. At a recent meeting meet-ing of the club Mrs. Ed. Moss was elected president, Mrs. Earl Carlisle vice president and Mrs. G. A. Anderson Ander-son reporter. |
