Show Many Aattend Summer School American Fork contributed 18 students toward the history-making enrollment at the 1935 summer session ses-sion of Brigham Young University. The registration of nearly 600 much exceeds any total reached in the past, according to Registrar John E. Hayes. The students came from two foreign countries and 12 states. The names of the American Fork students are Jay Beck, Lillian Booth, Nina H. Booth, Bessie Brown, Fern Burch, Ralph S. Chipman, Lois Greenwood, Lue S. Groesbeck, Helen Johnston, Irene Johnston, Pearl Jorgensen, Bcrnice Miller, Mabel M. Nelson, Fern S. Nicholes, Elmarion H. Nicholes, Orvel L. Snow, Sher-ion Sher-ion wine smd TTelen Young. I The first term will end on July 19. That evening and the next will be held the 24th Annual Timpanogos Hike, believed to be the greatest community hike in the nation. On July 22 the second or Alpine Term will begin. It is held at the rustic "study-camp" of Aspen Grove, nearly near-ly 7000 feet up among the woods of Mount Timpanogos. |
