"When a local customer calls Brinks' 8M number for installation installa-tion or maintenance, the call is routed here," Cattermole explained. Alarm activations are automatically automat-ically routed to the company's Dallas, Texas, operations center. The company's standard is a 5-sec-ond response; more often it's 2 seconds or less, he added. If the operations center cannot establish contact with the homeowner, local fire, law enforcement or paramedics para-medics are called to respond to the home's address, depending upon the type of alarm triggered. All dealers use Brinks equipment, equip-ment, which they purchase directly direct-ly from the company's supplier "Systems can be hard-wired or wireless." Cattermole explained.
