Show Dixie Forest Ranger Receives Transfer To Fishlake Forest Transfer of Don D. Seaman, forest for-est ranger on the Dixie National Forest with headquarters at Teas-dale, Teas-dale, was announced today by Albert AJbertson. forest supervisor. supervis-or. Mr. Seaman will transfer to the Fishlake National Forest with headquarters at Beaver. He wiU replace Forest Ranger Hammer Christensen who is retiring at the end of February. Ranger Don Seaman is a second sec-ond generation forester, being a son of former ranger Frank W. Seaman, retired, of Cedar City, who was' one of the first rangers to be appointed after the forests for-ests of southern Utah were created creat-ed in the early 190(r"s. Ranger Don Seaman received his early schooling In Cedar City. He is a graduate of U S A C with a major in forestry. He be gan working on the Wasatch National Na-tional Forest at Salt Lake City in 1951 as a forest guard, and later he filled an assignment as assistant ranger on the Kamas Ranger District of the Wasatch. In 1952 he was transferred to Teasdale as forest ranger, where he has been stationed until now. He is a veteran of World War II, having seen service in the Eu-ropean Eu-ropean theatre of operations. His wife is the former Gaye Davis' of Venice. Utah. They have two sons, Michael Don and Leslie D. He will move to Beaver with his wife and sons on or about Mar. 1. |
