Show Surplus Butter Bought One hundred twenty-two million pounds of butter have been bought by the Federal Surplus Commodities Commodi-ties corporation during the fiscal year ending June 30, 1939, it was announced by the department of agriculture. These purchases were made at a total cost of about $34,-500,000 $34,-500,000 including handling charges. The purchases included 26,000,-000 26,000,-000 pounds in butter markets, and ' about 96,000,000 bought from the Dairy Products Marketing association associa-tion out of the total 114,000,000 pounds bought and stored under government loans by the DPMA during the 1938-39 season under the butter stabilization program.
