Show School Board Leis Contract For Repairs Contracts were let by the Boatd of Education Monday lor improvement improve-ment cf the plumbing and heating facilities at the Cedar elemental school. The contracts let to Smith and Dennett plumbers, of Cedar City, who submitted the lew bid, callls lor the repair of two fountains at tl.e school, the repair of all toilet faculties, fa-culties, and the Installation of a new fountain at the rear of tnj elementary school building. In addition ad-dition the number of colls In the boilers at the heating plant will be doubled as a means of Increasing the heating capacity. Approval was given at the meeting meet-ing Monday for two school lunch room supervisors, Mrs. Leone Lyman Ly-man and Mrs. Vera Buhanan, to attend summer work shop at tre Utah State Agricultural College. Four new teachers, three for Cedar Ce-dar City schools and one for Parowan, Paro-wan, were approved by the Board. Miss Leah Bayer, a BYU graduate this year, was approved as a third grade teacher In the Cedar elementary elemen-tary school. Alma Lawrence, who was in the system a couple of years ago, but who has been contlnulnc his studies, will return next year es a teacher in the sixth grade of the Cedar school. Miss Dawn Andrus. sister of Roman Andrus, well kno n Utah artists who has exhibited at the Cedar City art exhibit each year, has been employed as an art teacher in the Cedar Junior and senior high schools, marking the first time it has been possible to offer full art classes at the local schools. Howard Dalley of Summit, wno will graduate at the BYU this year, was approved as commercial teacher teach-er at the Parowan high school. Superintendent Ianthus Wright who has been named to represent southern Utah on school building study committee composed of representatives re-presentatives from the Utah Education Edu-cation Association, the Society of School Superintendents, the State School Board Association, and the Parent-Trachcrs Association, repoit-ed repoit-ed on preliminary work of the committee. com-mittee.
