Show Kanab Resident Dies; Well Know Here By Older Residents Joseph William Chatterley, 80, brother of Mrs. Ella Thorley of Cedar Ce-dar C.ty, and well known to many of the older residents cf this city, died at his home in Kanab on May 1 of a heart ailment. Funeral services ser-vices were conducted on May 4 In I the Kanab North ward chapel. A son of Martin and Clu'Ltl:.u j Mackelprang Chatterley, he was born April 19, 18G8. As a young man he moved to Johnson, Kane county where the family was engaged in i farming and stock raising. He mar-i mar-i rled Eliza Jane Jackson October IS, 1894, in the St. George L D S tem-1 tem-1 pie. The couple moved to Kanab , about 1903 where they have . slu:e resided, with Mr. Chatterley continuing con-tinuing tn the liivestock Industry. Survivors Include his widow; seven se-ven children, Martin J. Chatterley, Mrs. Delia C. Crosby, Mrs. Minnie C. Meeks, Mrs. Louella C. Bakci, Mrs. Vlona C. Mognett and Gray-don Gray-don Chatterley of Kanab; and Mrs. LaVerna C. Brlnghurst of Toquer-vllle; Toquer-vllle; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Thorley, Cedar City, and Mrs. Minnie Harris, Har-ris, Lehi; 38 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Burial was In the Kanab cemetery, under direction of Pickett mortuary. |
