Show Agencies Prepare For Fire Season Although spring storms and cool weather are delaying the expected approach of the 1948 fire season.' county, State and federal fire protection pro-tection agencies are going ahead with plans to meet any fire emer- gency which may arise, according to J. Whitney Floyd, Logan, chief , forester-firewarden for Utah. Mr. Floyd tias sounded the key-' note In state fire prevention on forest, range and watershed lands by Issuing the annual proclamatloi which makes It unlawful for anyone "to set fire or cause to be set on fire any inflamable material on any forest land, grass land or range land or to set any fire for the pur- j pose of clearing his own property or the property of another without first securing a permit to do so from the chief firewarden or any one of his deputies." This proclamation Is effective between be-tween June 1 and October 31, 1948, apcordlng to Mr. Floyd. Burning permits are issued in Iron county by the county flreward-I flreward-I en, Sheriff Kent Smith. |
